Houston Release Party Draws City’s Top Boomer Businesswomen

Monday, January 07, 2008

The year’s first event celebrating the January 2008 release of Changing Lanes: Road Maps to Midlife Renewal brought together a bounty of Houston’s leading baby boomer women.

Attendees gathered on Jan. 7 at a elegant private home for a cocktail party hosted by former banker and World Trade Organization representative Linnet Deily to welcome Changing Lanes, a breathtaking new chronicle of stories from baby boomers who switched gears and renewed their lives. Eager guests enjoyed readings by Changing Lanes authors, former KPMG Consulting partner Jane Jelenko and former AT&T Broadband senior vice president Susan Marshall.

Following the readings, guests representing retail, real estate, law and other prominent industries, peppered the authors with enthusiastic questions about midlife renewal, and how to take the first steps toward a fulfilling “second act.” Deily gave each guest a head start with a gift copy of Changing Lanes. Many guests purchased additional copies as gifts for colleagues, friends, family members and others who are embarking on or considering midlife changes of their own.

Author Jane Jelenko states, “It was fantastic event—full of warmth and energy.” She notes she is looking forward to upcoming Changing Lanes events, including the book’s much-anticipated official Los Angeles release party on Jan. 20, and a book group reading and signing at Barnes & Noble Santa Monica on Jan. 28.
