Book Excerpt

Tom loves rock & roll. A self-taught musician, this East Coast boarding school and Ivy Leaguer enjoyed a three-decade music recording career, producing and working with such superstar acts as: Jimi Hendrix, Tom Nugent, Motley Crue, Boston, Reo Speedwagon, and Cheap Trick. Ensuring that the bands got to the studio on time with a minimum of foreign substances in their systems wasn’t easy in the heyday of sex, drugs, and rock & roll. But Tom, who led a clean, family-oriented life at home, enjoyed the “outlaw” association at work.

“I dried up on the vine. I thought of myself as a pop record producer, but the industry had pigeonholed me as strictly heavy metal. The phone didn’t ring anymore.” He sank into depression.
