Pay it forward.  Giving back is incredibly rewarding, provided you can make a substantive and lasting impact. Hand-wringing will not do the trick. If you have leadership experience, you should be in great demand. If you haven’t run a company or a division, you might still have what it takes to make a difference.

Test your limits and go beyond expectations. In choosing where to place your energy and skills, recall something meaningful in your life, whether painful or positive, and use it as a motivator to change others’ lives for the better.
