Midlife inertia is an affliction shared by many baby boomers. Maybe you are one of them. This syndrome is often described as a sense of feeling stuck—a frustration with the status quo. The notion of changing lanes is seductive, but you can’t seem to make the first move.

Some boomers attest that they just don’t know where to begin; indeed they don’t even know what questions to ask. In our book, Changing Lanes, we examine our own experiences, and more importantly, the personal stories of dozens of others who have tackled the challenge of midlife change.
